This has been a huge year for Vidanta, for so many reasons. We have a lot in the works, but we wanted to share a special award that reflects over 45 years of responsible choices made with our environment and community in mind. Thanks to our corporate social responsibility (commonly known as CSR) strategies and programs, the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) has awarded Vidanta with a Socially Responsible Company Distinctive!
We’re incredibly proud of this achievement because this award recognizes us as a company that considers its people and the environment first and foremost, and promotes fair business practices throughout all we do. And if a business decision doesn’t benefit all of these important pillars, it’s simple, we don’t do it. We have the courage to say no, and think up a better way to serve everyone and the environment.
Based on the internationally accepted pillars of ISO 26000, the Socially Responsible Company Distinctive, “Accredits companies that voluntarily and publicly assume the commitment of implementation and continuous improvement of a socially responsible management, as part of their culture and business strategy. Reflecting said commitment in its policies, strategies and programs, integrally considering all areas and levels of action of the company.”
Social responsibility is a choice, and one that Vidanta has made since the very beginning. From being a part of the Great Place to Work® Mexico list for seven consecutive years, or being awarded gold and platinum level certifications by EarthCheck; to the creation of non-profit organizations such as the Delia Morán Vidanta Foundation in 1988—which helps to promote education and child development in the Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta. Not to forget the Vidanta Foundation—an institution that promotes the social sciences and culture in Latin America, disseminates human and democratic values, and supports initiatives that help to reduce poverty and inequality. Vidanta has built all facets of its business with the highest integrity, always committed to the protection and promotion of Mexico and its people.
It’s an honor to receive this recognition and we’ll continue to dream up new ways to keep our guests, environment, and neighboring communities happy.
