Hola, Tequila
The Tequila Tour starts at the Ameca Social House, the 19th hole nestled into the base of Grand Luxxe Residence Tower. You’ll be greeted by a welcome cocktail showcasing the versatility of the star of the day: tequila! Sip on this lovely libation as you step into the electric cart transporting you to the site of your tasting. And don’t forget to enjoy the festive mariachi tunes serenading you as you zip along through the Nayar Course, over the scenic Ameca Bridge, and around the Norman Signature Golf Course. Once you see the picturesque table, agave garden, and decorated tree, you know you’ve arrived.
Tasting Time
After you take your seat at the table, it’s time to learn a thing or two about tequila. You’ll get a quick history lesson regarding how this splendid spirit came about, as well as how it came into fashion. Then it’s time for a tasting, lead by your Tequilier—a sommelier of tequilas. The tasting consists of five different Don Julio tequilas—a crisp and citrusy blanco, a spicy resposado, a full-bodied añejo, the clean vanilla-y Don Julio 70, and the rich and oaky Don Julio 1942. And in order to complement every sip, you’ll have a small bite of a flavorful tapas, customized to perfectly enhance its corresponding tequila.
Class Is in Session
You may have finished your tasting, but the fun is just ramping up. Now it’s time to step over to the bar tucked beneath the giant tree. Listen up, because you’re about to receive a cocktail lesson, where you can learn how to incorporate your favorite tequilas into a few different fresh, invigorating cocktails—and we’re not talking your typical margarita. These drinks are distinctive, inspired, and unique, yet easy enough for you to recreate for your friends when you return from vacay.
Once you’ve gained these new tricks for your next cocktail party, you’re ready to sharpen your techniques in the kitchen. Now is the cooking class portion of the afternoon, and you’re about to get schooled on the secrets to the perfect bowl of guacamole and zesty, robust salsa.

By this point, all of this tequila tasting, cocktail shaking, and avocado muddling probably has worked up an appetite. Luckily, one of the amazing Vidanta chefs has been busy at the nearby grill, prepping a variety of savory dishes and serving up plenty of delicious smells as you complete your cocktail and cooking classes. You get to finish up your day with a yummy spread, including your freshly prepared salsa and guac, as well as barbecued chicken, pork, beef, and vegetables. You even get to wash it all down with one of the signature tequila cocktails you just learned to make. And as the event draws to a close, you realize the afternoon has flown by and another day in paradise was perfectly spent.
