A Tree Like No Other

18 December, 2020 Written by Salvador

This year, our holiday spirit is shining as bright as the Mexican sun!

And there’s no better example of that seasonal cheer than our famed Christmas tree in Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. Of course, this is no ordinary tree we’re talking about! The Vidanta Christmas tree is specially designed to shine a spotlight on our Mexican heritage. It’s crafted out of traditional baskets made by local craftsmen in a vibrant spectrum of hues that represents the rich and resplendent culture of our people and our past. Each basket is decorated with ribbons and ornaments, creating an unforgettable sight that’s guaranteed to make your day all the merrier!

MAKING THE MAGIC

A tree this epic requires a considerable amount of time and care to assemble but is well worth the effort! It takes a team of 16 people 16 days to create the frame for the tree and attach each of the 780 baskets. And then a 7-foot star, weighing in at a whopping 90 pounds, tops it off! The end result is a truly dazzling display of holiday festivity—at over 70 feet tall, it can be spotted from throughout the resort and is beautifully illuminated by night.

CELEBRATE THE SEASON

This year, the tree is positioned in a new spot that allows for maximum accessibility and optimum visual impact. Located next to the La Plaza transportation hub, it’s easy for all guests to get to and is the perfect destination to visit after ordering a Mexican hot chocolate and some Christmas-y baked goods at Mercado Gourmet!

So, whether you’re at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta or at home practicing your own holiday décor, we hope the brilliance of our tradition brings everyone closer together in spirit.

Happy holidays, from all of us at Vidanta!
